Contemporary Mandala Workshp

Saturday, August 24, 2019 - 9:30am to 3:30pm
$165.00, includes supplies

Many of us learned to embroider from our grandmothers, as did I. But these days, we have many inexpensive tools and resources available that make the process even more simple and enjoyable.
This type of hand embroidery is very easy to learn as we cover fabric selection, marking tools, and many useful tips and techniques. We will also cover how to choose the right type of embroidery stitches and thread types for different applications. Detailed instruction will be given on how to create a variety of stitches.
Fun, enjoyable, and rewarding, this work lends itself to many different types of uses such as the embellishment of clothing, fiber arts projects, and small gift items.
Participants will create a 14” square project on linen that can later be finished as a pillow, mounted and framed for display, or stitched onto another item such as a tote bag or a wallhanging. WE will only be working on the mandala design in the center, but you are welcome to use the rest of my work for further inspiration.
No experience is required, and all skill levels are welcomed.
