Nuno Felting

E-mail Print

Date: October 8-9, 2010
Instructor: Carin Engen
Cost: $165.00
Time: 10-4 pm

In this popular two day workshop you will be able to create either a nuno felted scarf or a felted bag. Nuno felting is a fabric felting technique. It melds loose fiber, usually wool, into a sheer fabric such as silk gauze. This creates a lightweight felt that can totally cover the background fabric or be used as a single decorative design. The materials are already included in the cost of the workshop. Carin’s work is some of the most exquisite that I have ever seen, and you will be amazed by her work and her expertise.
Carin Engen is an award winning fiber artist and workshop instructor who has been using her experimental, playful nature to explore felting and color seriously since 1992. She maintains a studio in Garberville, California where she produces a line of hand dyed wool fabric and fiber as well as her felt art. She is an enthusiastic teacher who encourages innovation in her students' work.
