Workshop Duration: 6 hours of instruction minimum,
but can be be extended to multiple days
Skill Level: basic hand stitching skills
Working with geometric and organic shapes you will create a really fun, expressive, and visually stunning piece in this class that will be mounted on a canvas panel to be hung on the wall.
It’s easy to get stuck or in a rut with your creativity, but getting back to just plain having fun and playing with new concepts can be enlightening.
You’ll create an original hand and/or machine stitched piece to explore composition and the relationships between shapes while also experimenting with color and value.
April will help you get started, guide you through the challenges you encounter, and make your own color and design choices with ease and confidence.
You will learn:
- To make confident color and design decisions
- The basics and benefits of hand embroidery without a hoop
- Use basic embroidery stitches in lots of different ways
- Hand applique
