Bio
I grew up in a small town in northern California where I was fortunate enough to spend a great deal of time with my grandmothers. As soon as I was old enough to hold a needle without causing personal injury to myself, they taught me the skills of sewing, quilting, knitting, crocheting, lace making, and embroidery. These are skills that I have spent my lifetime cultivating
After graduating from high school I spent a few years working in the design and production of leather goods and clothing. In need of broadening my technical skills and my employment prospects, I attended San Francisco School of Fashion Design. Upon completion of their vocational program, I was employed for many years in the apparel and accessories industries in both the United States and Canada. My areas of expertise were design, new product development, and production management.
I have been self-employed for the last eighteen years, and my current business was established in 2001.
I have continued my education in art and the textile arts field through numerous classes at our local college as well as workshops with many internationally recognized textile artists.
I continue to have an insatiable appetite for learning.
